About Beth:

I still remember the moment in February 1971 when my grandparents gave me my first camera. It remains in the top three of best birthday presents of all time. I started taking pictures that day and have been bothering my family, annoying pets, lagging behind on hiking trips, and seeing the world a little differently ever since.

Some of my favorites are <> HERE <>. I'll be adding more.

Mandela Art Quotes

Description:

As an artist, I love to inspire people, and so you may ask the question; who inspires you? Well to be honest, I get inpired by so many things and people. One of the most influential people of our time is the great Nelson Mandela.

This man exemplifies Greatness. I was inspired to create this piece of art by freedom, and who is better to portray that freedom than this great man; Nelson Mandela.

Mandela fought to be free and his people to be free for so many years and is one of my greatest inspiration to create art that can touch people and change their lives.

About Collin:

I don't produce art that only concentrate on one subject. I am inspired by nature and the beautiful world around us, hence I am never without a sketch pad, painting tools or camera to capture life.

I did not set out to be an artist or to create these interesting pieces of work, my direction changed after being at university studying architecture and realised what my passion really was.

My work tends to focus on landscapes and portraits, my photography are focused on flowers and landscapes but you will find that I don't just enclose my work to one specific thing.

In school the only class I was really interested in was art. This was when I really felt alive.

Throughout growing up, my biggest inspirations were my parent's and to this very day when I visit they never fail to show my childhood drawings, they were the ones who saw what i could create at a very young age and started buying me materials to paint..

My influences are first and foremost everything I see, feel and experience, the repetitive nature of my art frees my imagination and provides opportunity to expand and be creative.

About Lloyd:

Hi folks. My name is Lloyd Goldstein and I'm a photographer/artist. My wife and I made a huge lifestyle change this year by saying goodbye to the northeast in Wayne, NJ. and moving ourselves and our cat and dog to Mazatlan, Mexico. It was the right time to make this move and we haven't looked back. Mexico is an amazing country where the people are so nice it kind of took us by surprise. We had lived here for the past two winters and made this a permanent situation in October of this year. My photographic style is eclectic to say the least. I call it photography with a twist. Poke around my web site and see if you agree. Thank you for looking at my creations. Muchas Gracias.

About Tammy:

I started painting when I was around 5 years old. Never went to art school although I would have loved to go.

I have a huge collection of art supplies and, besides art, I think I love the smell of artist pencils, oil pastels and all those other arty smelly things more.

I drive my family nuts when I get my little table out and everyone has to tiptoe around me so they don't drop my precious materials by accident.

I almost always have this 'thing' trying to break out of me and be seen on paper or canvas.

I love beautiful things. I love colour. I love everything pretty and bright. I love to express myself on a substrate even if I still don't really have a fixed style or distinguished technique.

I was in graphic design for 20 years (also self taught) because I love computers. I thought that combining my two loves I could make a living and design. I have had enough of Graphic Design, and want to paint all the time now.

I mostly get commissioned for portraits and have been doing that almost from my school days.

Lately I have mastered pewter art and is trying very hard to combine that in my art. Watch this space! I aim to dazzle!

All Commissions welcome. I will paint/draw and mail to any corner of the globe.

Further Information on all the items below at the Facebook link.
Bruce McLachlan features in 27.12.2013 issue of the Waikato Times with his Nelson Mandala tribute under the pseudonym 'Brusy'.

About Bruce:

Bruce is a self taught artist of dynamic talent. Known for his vibrant collection of portraiture, classic cars and other subjects within the style of superb realism. His ability to adapt to any style to suit a particular subject, has made him a popular commission artist. Bruce has found enjoyment portraying people within his work and allowing their personalities to show through onto canvas, and has a definite interest in painting the human form on a whole.

With an extensive history of solo exhibits under his belt, Bruce also exhibits in many group shows. He has work currently in many collections both nationally and abroad. Bruce began painting seriously in 2003 following the passing of his mother, this event sparked an embarking of a new journey for him...a journey into the world of art. In his new paintings Bruce explores new creative plains via texture, and discovery, within experimenting new techniques, deconstruction, refining and discarding as the piece develops its own personality. The ever forward evolutionary turns of Bruce's works keep you intrigued about what he will present to us next...and being multi-faceted and multi-talented, we know it's always bound to impress.

Bruce is inspired by many artists of our past, especially NZ artists, the likes of 'Goldie' of course being at the top of the list. But Bruce is always interested in the enlightenment of discovering more and more about modern and post contemporary inspiring artists globally also. He is often drawn to the human form, but his current aim within his career is to start sharing more of the diverse and wonderful facets of himself personally....a very new thing for Bruce. It is an exciting next step in his career as he steps out from behind his easel, and we finally get a peek into 'who Bruce is' as an artist and as an individual.

Belgravia Gallery

The event at the Roundhouse will commemorate the life and legacy of a 20th Century Hero. The dinner has been inspired by the House of Commons Tribute Book of Messages to Nelson Mandela. Started in 1999, the book now contains over 700 handwritten messages from Prime Ministers and Presidents to world famous celebrities, musicians, political and corporate leaders. Hosted by TV Star June Sarpong with entertainment provided by special guests Heather Small, The Body Guard Star Alexandra Burke, the Kenney Jones house band, classical dance star Fenando Montano and Rwanda's pop idol Kitoko.

About Mandela Day

Nelson Mandela International Day was launched in recognition of Nelson Mandela’s birthday on 18 July, 2009 via unanimous decision of the UN General Assembly.

It was inspired by a call Nelson Mandela made a year earlier, for the next generation to take on the burden of leadership in addressing the world’s social injustices when he said that “it is in your hands now”.

It is more than a celebration of Madiba’s life and legacy. It is a global movement to honour his life’s work and act to change the world for the better.

Reminder:

Belgravia Gallery relocated from Albemarle Street on 27th June 2014. We are currently available by appointment and works can be seen on our website. We will be opening our new premises on Maddox Street in September.

This Autumn will see the launch of The Official Nelson Mandela Opus - A celebration of the life and legacy of one of the world’s greatest icons. Artworks by the former South Africian President will make up over 20 pages of this luxurious 850 page book.
