I'll try to explain the sense of this oil painting with the
help of a translator:
At first I wanted through this oil painting to pay tribute
to Nelson Mandela, secondly I also had a thought for all the political
prisoners, which remain locked into the world.
Finally, in a wider sense, I wanted to hint at our own
prisons, our internal prisons, which sometimes prevent us from giving life to
our dreams.
Mandela represents here the hope and the strength. The hope
of a colored, committed, (hired) alive and kicking life, which opposes the
ice-cold walls of prisons.
